Our Story
Buka Chop was born from a simple craving and a big dream. After moving to Heerlen from Lagos, our founder Chinyere found herself missing the smoky jollof rice, the rich egusi soup, and the sizzle of suya on a Sunday afternoon.
Unable to find anything close to home-cooked West African food locally, she started cooking for friends. Word spread fast. What began as a weekend hobby is now Buka Chop — named after the beloved roadside eateries (“bukas”) that are the soul of West African street food culture.
Today we serve the diverse and growing community of Heerlen and South Limburg, delivering meals that taste like they were made by someone who loves you — because they were.
